Team synopsis: 2011 is the first year of the big expansion of Frozen Tundra. The league grows from 16 to 24 teams and Baltimore was awarded one of the 8 expansion slots. This expansion was much different from almost every other league as their was a very nice pool of talent to draw from for the eight new teams. The core of the Baltimore Colts was set in the first three picks in the expansion draft as the Colts selected Joe Flacco, Matt Forte and Brian Orakpo. This blog will document how the first season unfolds for Baltimore.
The Colts entered the final four games of the season with a shot at the Frozen Tundra playoffs. What happened over those last games was a Baltimore team that crashed, burned and missed the playoffs. After starting the fourth quarter with a tough loss to St. Louis, the Colts followed that up with three consecutive losses each by one score margins. The game against Seattle saw the Seahawks Peyton Manning win with a ball control short passing game. Against Winnipeg, the Blue Bombers won the time possession battle by getting some key scrambles from Michael Vick. The final game versus Phoenix saw the Cardinals Ryan Torain have success on the ground while the Baltimore offense stumbled for 50 minutes before showing any life. A tough end to the season for Baltimore. Colts offensive leaders:
